Durch die individuelle Anpassungen der Bauweise können wir Förderer in Food-Qualität und hygienisch und zudem auch staub-, öl- und gasdicht umsetzen. Ebenso lassen sich verschleiß- und korrosionsbeständige Edelstähle einsetzen sowie diverse Oberflächenbeschichtungen, wie Verzinken oder RAL-Töne vornehmen. Durch die Änderungen der Materialien, Geometrie und Oberflächen können auch Funktionen wie zum Beispiel Reinigungsöffnungen mit Schnellverschluss, Isolierungshalterungen, Schaugläser oder Sensorik optimal realisiert werden.

We design conveyors that are food-grade and hygienic, as well as dust-, oil- and gas-tight. Wear- and corrosion-resistant stainless steels can also be used, and various surface coatings such as galvanising or RAL colours can be applied. By changing the materials, geometry and surfaces, functions such as cleaning openings with quick-release fasteners, insulation brackets, sight glasses or sensors can also be optimally implemented.

About ILCHMANN Fördertechnik GmbH

ILCHMANN Fördertechnik GmbH, based in Bickenbach an der Bergstraße (between Frankfurt am Main and Heidelberg), has been a specialist supplier of bulk material handling technology since 1992. As an owner-managed, medium-sized company, ILCHMANN develops, designs and manufactures high-quality conveyor systems for the national and international market – made in Germany.

With over 30 years of experience and more than 4,000 conveyors delivered, the company has established itself as a reliable partner for tailor-made conveyor solutions; its cumulative total turnover amounts to over 200 million euros. Under the leadership of Managing Director Tim Ilchmann (second generation), the company combines sound engineering knowledge with a deep understanding of its customers’ processes – especially in oilseed processing.

ILCHMANN Fördertechnik GmbH covers a wide range of bulk material conveyor technology and supplies solutions from individual units to complete conveyor lines.

 

Trough chain conveyors (TKF)

Robust, low-maintenance conveyors for horizontal, inclined and slightly ascending conveyor lines.
Enclosed housing design, suitable for 24/7 operation and ATEX applications; housing widths up to 1,600 mm, conveying capacities up to approx. 500 t/h or 1,000 m³/h – depending on the product.

 

Screw conveyors (TSF / RSF)

Conveying of various bulk materials in horizontal and inclined designs.
Available as trough screw conveyors (TSF) or pipe screw conveyors (RSF), screw diameters up to 1,250 mm and conveying capacities up to approx. 500 t/h – suitable for products ranging from flours to press cakes.

 

Bucket elevators (GBW / KBW)

Bucket elevators are the key technology for economical vertical conveying with high volume flow.

  • Belt bucket elevators (GBW) for conveying heights up to approx. 80 m
  • Chain bucket elevators (KBW) for the most demanding applications, elevated temperatures and high loads

This allows oilseeds, flours, meal and many other bulk materials to be conveyed safely over great heights.

 

Hygienic chain conveyors

For applications with increased hygiene requirements – e.g. in the food or feed industry – ILCHMANN supplies hygienic chain conveyors with a cleaning-friendly design, suitable materials and optimised sealing systems.

 

Additional conveyor solutions

In addition to the core range, other customer-specific conveyor solutions are also available, e.g. special designs (e.g. corrugated edge belt or belt pocket conveyor systems), flat slides and interchangeable flaps. These components complete the product range and enable individual, continuous conveyor lines from reception to loading.

 

Industry expertise: Oilseed processing industry

ILCHMANN places particular emphasis on the oilseed processing industry. Its customers include some of the world’s largest processors – the so-called ABCD group: Archer Daniels Midland (ADM), Bunge, Cargill and Louis Dreyfus. ILCHMANN is listed as a preferred supplier for many of these companies.
Ilchmann’s conveyor solutions cover the entire material flow in the oil mill – from the reception and pre-cleaning of the seeds to transport to and from silo systems and intermediate containers, as well as line routing through thermally stressed zones after presses, expanders and conditioners, to dust explosion-proof conveyor technology for ATEX areas, as well as the conveying, cooling and loading of flours, meal, press cakes and pellets into wagons or lorries.
Thanks to this specialisation, ILCHMANN has a very detailed knowledge of the typical product properties, wear issues, ATEX requirements and operating conditions in oil mills.

 

A wide range of conveyor goods

ILCHMANN technology is not only used for oilseeds (soya, rapeseed, sunflower seeds), but also for numerous other bulk materials, e.g.:

  • Agricultural and food sector: maize, wheat, bran, flakes, starch products
  • Oilseed and feed sector: Press cake, grist, pellets, by-products
  • Chemicals and materials sector: lignin, fertilisers, powder, granulated products

These conveying materials differ significantly in terms of bulk density, abrasiveness, bridging, fat content and dust content – ILCHMANN takes this into account when selecting cross-sections, speeds, materials and wear protection systems.

 

Quality features and technology

All conveyors are developed in Germany and manufactured at selected, certified contract workshops. Typical quality features are:

  • Food-grade designs and hygienic design
  • Dust-, oil- and gas-tight constructions for demanding processes
  • Wear- and corrosion-resistant materials (e.g. stainless steels, special steels)
  • Surface treatments such as galvanisation or coating in standard RAL colours
  • Cleaning openings with quick-release fasteners, insulation brackets, sight glasses
  •  Integration of sensors (e.g. temperature, speed, fill level) and interfaces to process control technology

The use of modern CAD, FEM and DEM software enables precise design of the conveyor technology, simulation of loads and tailor-made implementation of special requirements. The company has been certified according to DIN EN ISO 9001 since 2009.

ILCHMANN conveyor systems are designed to minimise the total cost of ownership over the entire life cycle.
Durable designs, wear-optimised details, low-maintenance concepts and long-term spare parts availability make the systems a sustainable investment. Many designs are part of best practice guidelines and engineering standards of international oil mill operators.
